PDP Will Take Over in Enugu, Says Ekweremadu

The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu on Saturday expressed satisfaction due to the peacefulness of the primary election for Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates for the November 4 local government election in Enugu state.
Furthermore Ekweremadu expressed optimism that the PDP candidates will sweep the poll despite the presence of the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) in the election.
He spoke after the exercise saying,the acceptance of the results of the primaries by the overwhelming majority of party in the primaries was an indication of the acceptability of winners.
He also advised winners of the primaries who have become flag bearers of the party now to remember that after the elections, the people’s investment in them as their chosen representatives must be rewarded with dividends that positively impact their lives.
The Deputy President of the Senate who visited the five local
governments in Enugu West on the day of the primaries called on aspirants who did not win to be patient as the mark of a good politician is to learn to support winners and wait for their own opportunity.
He commended the newly appointed transition committee chairmen in Enugu West Senatorial District for their roles in the conduct of the primaries and extolled in a special way the transition committee chairman of Aninri Local Government Area, Hon. Ben Alukwu for transforming the structures at the Local government headquarters Ndeaboh.
